Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be events all weekend?

OMG YES! We will be arriving to Atlantic City on Thursday evening and staying until Monday night. Please see the Events page for the weekend itinerary.

When does the official kickoff begin?

Our ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm on Sunday, September 19th on the Vue Rooftop at the Claridge Hotel. We kindly ask guests to arrive to the rooftop no later than 5:00 pm so guests can take their seat.  We ask that you be on time as the Bride will be walking down from the same entrance as guests entering and, rest assured, you do not want to be in the anxious crossroad of Allison minutes before showtime. There is a cash bar available on the roof for guests that arrive early.

So when will the Groom see the Bride?

You all may well know that we are not a very traditional couple, as told by pretty much our entire relationship.  But, off brand, we have decided to keep this part of our wedding in line with tradition.  While we will be taking pictures before the ceremony, we will not be taking them together. No first look. No first touch. So you, our friends, family, and guests will see the bride at the same time as the groom.  We hope it will be as special for you as it is for us.

Will it be a long ceremony?

Nope. It'll be short and hopefully sweet.  Mainly it will consist of some music, some happy guests, some awkward vows, likely some ugly crying (at least from the bride), an exchange of something sparkly, some laughter, and one life-altering kiss.

What do we do after the ceremony?

Well, that depends on who you are! Immediate family members: we are holding you hostage for group photos. We promise to make it as quick and painless as possible!  Friends: Feel free to make your way to cocktail hour in the Art Gallery for drinks starting at 6. Don't worry, we will be there right after photos! (Allison does NOT want to miss cocktail hour!)

Are children allowed?

They sure are. If Covid has taught us anything, it has certainly given us a reminder in just how important family and friends are; and we want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to attend. So if that means you would prefer to bring your children, please do so.  If you prefer to have an adult only night out, we respect that too. Either way, just let us know how many people in your party will attend.  To note: we are not having any official babysitting at the events, so you will be responsible for wrangling your own beautiful tots.

A Very Special Note of Thanks

I (Allison) would like to extend my utmost gratitude to my  Honorary Unofficial/ Accidental Bridal Party.  When I was determined to have only a minuscule bridal party, I didn't predict how much work I would have to do on my own. (I guess that's why people have bridal parties, Al). You ladies basically had all the work of a bridesmaid, without the matching dress or special acknowledgment.  Planning a wedding during a pandemic, and without my family wasn't easy, but you stepped in at every single important step, forcing me to celebrate all the moments I was determined to skip.  Thanks for being my family of life, my forever sisters, and for being so involved in this day. I couldn't have pulled any of this off without you two beautiful, unicorn goddesses.

Okay... just a few more Special Bridal Shout-Outs and then back to the FAQs. You ladies Facetimed me during dress shopping, made me enagement cookies, and walked me through my never-ending neurotic anxiety.  You helped with the shower.  You offered to give speeches and help shoot video. You talked credit card redemption miles with me and made sure I had something blue. You even offered to let me borrow stuff (and we all know how risky that is).

So in no particular order, to my gorgeous unsung heroes of this wedding, a special thank you to:

Aislinn Fitzgerald

Kayla King

Kathy Novak

Kathleen King

Beverly Holmes

How long will the wedding last?

Till the wee hours of the morn, baby.  Pre-ceremony at 5:00pm. Ceremony at 5:30pm. Cocktail Hour at 6:00pm. Reception 7:00-11:00pm. All of these events will be held at the Claridge. There will then be an after party at the Irish Bar on the Boardwalk which is open 24/7.  All event info can be found at the Events tab.

What is the dress code?

Whatever makes you feel special! Our wedding has a Gatsby type vibe, so feel free to rock that look. If you wanna wear a tux or ballgown, we encourage that. But suit and normal wedding attire works too. We just ask to refrain from jeans, sneakers or anything too casual. After all this time without social functions, we hope you use this as an excuse to doll up in your Sundays finest.

Will there be drinks?

Really? I think we all know the answer to this. We will be having a open bar happy hour on Saturday (See Events page) and on the day of the wedding there will be  an open bar during Cocktail Hour and the Reception.  For guests wanting to start earlier than that, there will also be a cash bar on the Vue Rooftop prior to the ceremony.

Sans the Booze. I want grub!!

We promise to properly feed you too. There will be a huge amount of food at cocktail hour including pasta and meat stations, cheese boards, passed hors d'oeuvres and other goodies. There will also be a full 3 course meal and of course ...there will be cake.

Do I need to RSVP?

Yes. For purposes of meal count, seating, and capacity concerns, we will need an RSVP no later than August 15th.  You can RSVP here online, email Allison at allison.guilbault@gmail.com or text her at 201-398-6417. (Yes, we know, we are so digital!)

Where will I stay?

Please see Accommodations page. There are several great options of hotels in Atlantic City that can meet most budgets. As per the page, if you choose to book a hotel outside of the suggestions, please see Allison first. There have also been blocks of rooms set aside. Those rates will be honored until August 15th. You may also want to inquire about hotel reward promotions. It is not uncommon for AC to offer low-rate and comp rates for members of their programs.

What about Covid?

We hope it goes without saying that the health of our friends and family is of utmost importance to us.  While we do not expect to change the date under any circumstances, we do intend to adhere to the safety measures outlined by the CDC, WHO and local officials. We will update this site with any new information as developments unfold, but as of right now we are simply putting into the universe that we will be able to have a safe September wedding without limitations.

However, to put some concerns to ease, please note the following:

The ceremony is being held outside.

In the event that indoor events are prohibited, we are able to move the entire wedding outdoors.

The reception will be held in the Grand Ballroom which can accommodate up to 300 people.  Our wedding will not be more than 50% capacity.

Most of our guests (Including the entire wedding party and their immediate families) will have received the vaccinations by the wedding date.

If necessary, masks, hand sanitizer and other safety equipment will be provided.

We understand that some guests will not be comfortable traveling or attending and we want you to know that we understand completely and will find a way to celebrate with you when the time is right.

For additional information, or any questions, please contact Allison.
